Discover The Marche Region

The Italian name “Le Marche” is the plural of marca, and literally means “the Marches”, originally referring to the medieval March of Ancona and near by marches of Camerino and Fermo. The Marche Region is situated in the central area of Italy, bordering Emilia-Romagna and the republic of San Marino to the north, Tuscany to the north-west, Umbria to the west, Abruzzo and Lazio to the south, and the Adriatic Sea to the east. Except for river valleys and the often very narrow coastal strip, the land is known for its sloping hills.
The Marche has been called the ‘land of enchantment’ or ‘terre di incanti’. It is a rich tapestry of charming towns, welcoming people and unspoiled nature. Most of all, you won’t have to stand in long line-ups to experience any of it. It’s our secret and we’re excited to share it with you.
