Puglia (Apulia) is one of the 20 regions in Italy. It is located on the heel of the boot-shaped country. It boasts the longest coastline of any region in Italy – 800 kilometres (480 miles). Puglia has two outstanding national parks that showcase the natural beauty of the region.
For MP TOURS, Puglia’s appeal is multi-faceted. As the largest producer of olive oil for Italy, it nurtures the country economically and gastronomically, since olive oil is the essence of the Mediterranean lifestyle. Puglia’s spectacular rugged coastline makes for stunning seaside explorations. Its food traditions are simple and exceptionally tasty – think pasta, cheese, abundant vegetables and fruits, and bread. The vineyards produce excellent grape varieties, especially Primitivo and Negroamaro, with the second oldest winery in the world – 26 generations, that’s 1100 years of wine-making. So much to experience!
Our Puglia tour, entitled Tastes of Puglia is designed for travellers who want to:
- Stroll through olive groves with centuries-old trees and savour the exquisite oil
- Learn the family secrets of wine-making
- Feel the sea breeze while enjoying an aperitivo
- Wander through the traditional trulli homes that are still in use today

Puglia is all this and more, waiting to delight every one of your senses. Won’t you come along with us?
